World Logistics elects Babar Badat to Lead the Global Industry

(PR) – FIATA, the International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations, headquartered in Zurich was founded in 1926. It is the world’s largest nongovernmental organization in the field of international freight logistics & transportation. It has over 125- member countries and represents around 50,000 international logistics companies employing approximately 10 million people across 150 countries. FIATA’s general assembly meeting was held on Oct 8th, 2017 during its World Congress 2017 in Kuala Lumpur. We take immense pleasure to inform that Pakistan’s national logistics association PIFFA’s Founder Chairman Mr. Babar Badat has been elected as “President of FIATA”.

Although it is usually a keenly contested global election Mr. Babar Badat’s nomination was unopposed so he was unanimously elected for tenure 2017-2019. Mr. Badat has previously served on the Extended Board of FIATA as a VP for two terms following which he was elected as a SVP on the Presidency for two terms. FIATA is the premier global logistics organization as such bringing its Presidency home is a matter of great pride & honor for Pakistan’s trade in general and the transport logistics industry in particular.

Today it becomes even more relevant for us as Pakistan works towards establishing itself as a regional transit hub under the auspicious of CPEC.
